“Diane Wood demonstrates pastel techniques at Rhythm on the River.” Longmont Studio Tour artists create an outdoor gallery at Rhythm on the River. This year’s participating artists: |

According to Edwina Salazar, Executive Director of the Center, the program surpassed everyone’s expectations with the discovery of improvement in the self esteem of the homeless models, and showcasing, through the artists’ work, the supportive programs that the OUR Center provides for those in personal economic difficulty. Both the models and the artists captured the humanity and universality of the human experience. Art for OUR Center 2009 artwork will be a feature of the live and silent auctions of the OUR Center’s Dinner Dance, an annual fundraising event, this year to be held September 19th. Many pieces of this work may be viewed earlier at Buzz Coffee (1139 Francis Street) beginning August 7th and The Great Frame Up (430 Main Street), beginning September 11th, in Longmont. The September OUR Center Dinner Dance will be held at the Radisson Hotel, 1900 Ken Pratt Blvd in Longmont, Saturday September 19, 6:00 to 11:30 p.m. Video of interviews with the homeless clients who participated as models will be featured at the event. For more information or to purchase tickets to the fundraiser, go to www.ourcenter.org or call 303-772-5529.
